Reduce pool temperature
Turning down the temperature on your pool heater will significantly decrease the amount of energy you use to keep your pool warm.
How it works: Pool temperatures are typically between 78°F and 82°F. For every 1°F increase in your pool's temperature, the energy costs needed to heat the pool increase up to 10-30%.
Good to know: If you have a natural gas pool/spa heater, be sure to turn it off if you won't be using it for several days. These heaters are most efficient when quickly heating pools for short periods of time.
