Turn off window AC units during a Conservation Day
During peak hours, when electricity demand is high throughout our region, the need to stay cool tends to increase as well. Small actions can have big impacts.
Step by step:
- Turn your window AC units off. If you have one or more window air conditioners, consider turning them off during peak hours in the rooms you're not using.
- Use fans instead of AC. Stay close to fans instead of using air conditioning to keep cool.
- Close curtains and blinds. Preventing sunlight from entering your home will keep your home cooler. Make sure to target windows that face south or west, which get the most light in the summer.
